ExCom Meeting #19

This report on the 19th meeting of the Executive Committee (ExCom) of the Warsaw International Mechanism on Loss and Damage (WIM) in September 2023 addresses those interested in Loss and Damage within the UNFCCC process.

The ExCom #19 took place in anticipation of the fourth meeting of the Transitional Committee for the financing of Loss and Damage. This Committee is tasked with providing recommendations for the design of the Loss and Damage Fund established at COP27.

The agenda included presentations of ExCom working groups on recent updates and discussions about ExCom's engagement and outreach activities, as well as its collaboration with the Adaptation Fund.

The report focuses on this collaboration, as insights from existing funds and their co-operation with the WIM are crucial for the establishment of the Loss and Damage Fund.
