Loss and Damage in Vulnerable Countries Initiative

Cover: LD Study Bangladesh
Bangladesh Leading the Way on Loss and Damage

The least developed countries (LDCs) are both the least responsible for and the most vulnerable to climate change impacts. A lack of institutional, economic and financial capacity renders these countries less able to cope with climate change impacts and more likely to suffer loss and damage as a result. The need for an international mechanism to address this inequity has long been acknowledged.

"Progress in Bangladesh will inform other LDCs on potential pathways for understanding and addressing loss and damage".
