The Millennium Development Goals and Climate Change: Taking Stock and Looking Ahead
Five years before the rallying-point, World leader and country representatives meet in New York on the Millenium Development Goals Summit from 20-22nd September.
In the last years, the MDGs and the climate change agenda have been the overriding themes in global development. Many synergies exists between the fight against poverty and hunger and the global mitigation and adaptation challenge. However, there are also antagonistic effects, for instance diversion of aid and competition for limitied resources
The study, therefore, aims to chart political recommendation that faciliates existing synergies between the MDG and climate agenda and reduces trade-offs respectively.
