
Even a very small rise in sea level may result in serious negative consequences for atolls and low islands1. The effects of a storm surge or flooding are also exacerbated by natural breakwaters such as coral reefs disappearing through global warming and other reasons.
Using a specific case study, pupils learn about the direct consequences of climate change for the inhabitants of a Pacific island state. The teaching module provides general information about climate change as well as looking at an entirely different perspective.
