10 years of climate policy and the impact for future generations

The Klimahaus will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a symposium looking back on the last ten years in climate policy and climate change and further into the future. One perspective will be to revisit how the world went from the failure to agree in Copenhagen 2009 to the much appreciated agreement in Paris 2015 and its implementation (mostly) in Katowice 2018. We will also have a look at the next steps that need to be taken to reach the Paris goals in an equitable way.

In the second part of the symposium we will move into the Klimahaus exhibition to talk about actually visible and tangible impacts of climate change all over the world and especially in the places the Klimahaus journey is about. In addition to a scientific view on new developments in climate change and climate research, climate change witnesses from around the world will talk about how they experience climate change at home.

Topics on the agenda include:
• Key negotiation points related to the Paris Agreement
• Achievements and challenges towards reaching the Paris goals
• The impact of climate change on people in different parts of the world and future generations

We would like to invite you to discuss your experiences with those of international experts from NGO’s, universities, global corporations, the public administration, international organizations and people who are interested in climate policy and climate protection.
