CCPI 2017: Emerging Economies

CCPI 2017: Emerging Economies

Level and trend of CO2 emissions per capita

This graph shows the per capita CO2 emissions for each of the newly industrialised countries, both by trend (2009-2014) and level (2014).

Level and trend of CO2 emissions per TPES

This graph shows the carbon intensity of total primary energy supply for the newly industrialized countries, both by trend (2009-2014) and level (2014). In order to report a decarbonisation, we would have to see a decline in the carbon intensity of primary energy supply and in the energy intensity of the economy.

Level and trend of Renewables per TPES

This graph shows the share of renewable energy sources in total primary energy supply for the newly industrialised countries, both by trend (2009-2014) and level (2014)

Level and Trend of TPES per GDP

This graph shows the total primary energy supply per GDP for each of the newly industrialised countries, both by trend (2009-2014) and level (2014). The indicator TPES/GDP reflects the energy intensity of a country’s economy. Together with the indicator CO2/TPES, the energy intensity of the economy gives the decarbonisation progress of a country.
