Voluntary corporate commitments to remove deforestation from supply chains

Stempel

In the past, governments, companies, and NGOs made common declarations and moratoria to reduce and halt deforestation in supply chains. Several companies have made commitments to address forest degradation in their supply chains. These commitments often focus on specific commodities within their supply chains and ecosystems. The commitments are voluntary and monitored by the companies themselves or through certification schemes. The implementation of effective monitoring mechanisms and strong public-private alliances strengthen deforestation-free practices.
