Green Climate Fund
At the UN climate summit in Cancún
(COP16, 2010) it was decided to establish the Green Climate Fund (GCF)
in order to scale up funding for climate action in developing countries.
In order to prepare details for the GCF, a Transitional Committee was established,
composed of 15 members from developed countries and 25 members from developing
countries. Its task is to work out agreed documents in 2011 which should
be presented to COP17 in Durban. The official website of the Transitional
Committee can be accessed here: http://unfccc.int/cancun_agreements/green_climate_fund/items/6038.php
Germanwatch has closely followed
the process of the Transitional Committee in 2011 and has prepared reports
on the different meetings.
