Brief Summary
This briefing paper summarises the key issues that are on the agenda of the 14th meeting of the Adaptation Fund Board, which governs the Adaptation Fund set up under the Kyoto Protocol. It will take place from 20 to 22 June in Bonn.
Among the key issues are the consideration
of further project and programme proposals to be approved by the AFB, the
accreditation of further implementing entities, including one National
Implementing Entity from Benin, and the review of the Operational Policies
and Guidelines for Parties to access resources from the Fund. The latter
process is also relevant with regard to further strengthening provisions
for the inclusion and consultation of affected stakeholders within developing
countries.
